For decades, we have overexploited marine resources, used destructive bottom trawling, and polluted the seas in Denmark. The result is an ocean in crisis. We want to change that.
seabreak primarily supports nature restoration, communication, and research in Denmark's marine environment. The goal is better conditions and greater knowledge about the sea and its organisms.
We support projects within three main areas:
We primarily support local projects around Zealand and the islands, as well as projects with a national focus.

We must protect our oceans – and what has been degraded must be restored. In collaboration with WWF Denmark, DTU Aqua, Aarhus University and local stakeholders, Seabreak is supporting the establishment of new boulder reefs as part of one of Denmark’s largest marine habitat restoration projects, Sejerø Seascape.

The sea is under pressure, and if we want to protect our seas, a new approach to marine management is needed. With an ecosystem-based approach, a partnership led by Tænketanken Hav will rethink how to better care for and manage the seas in Denmark. Seabreak supports the project, which will run for two years. LinkThe lumpfish has been overlooked, and knowledge is crucial if we are to protect and preserve it. With support from Seabreak, DTU Aqua is launching a pioneering project to map the biology of the lumpfish and investigate how environmental changes affect its living conditions. The project started in January 2026, and will run for 4 years. Read more at the link:
